About
Billie Eilish is making her feature acting debut with Oscar-winning filmmaker Sarah Polley‘s adaptation of Sylvia Path’s classic 1963 novel The Bell Jar. Polley, who earned an Oscar for her script for 2022’s Women Talking, is penning the screenplay that adapts the book. The best-selling novel centers on the mental health journey of college student Esther Greenwood as she takes a role at a magazine. In this raw, emotional journey by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Sylvia Plath, a brilliant young woman in 1950s America gradually loses her grip on reality as she battles depression, societal expectations, and mental illness.
