A vision board is a visual representation of your goals, aspirations, and dreams. It can be a physical board, a digital collage, or even just a list of written goals, but the idea is to create a tangible representation of what you want to achieve in your life. Using visualization techniques is vital to manifesting your performance career goals and a vision board is a super place to start.

The process of creating a vision board involves identifying your goals and aspirations and then finding images, quotes, and other elements that represent those goals and help to inspire and motivate you. Some people choose to focus on specific areas of their life, such as career, relationships, or personal growth, while others take a more holistic approach and include a wide range of goals and aspirations.

As an actor or performing artist, there are many benefits to creating a vision board. The board can help to clarify your goals and give you a clear focus, which may be particularly helpful when you're feeling overwhelmed or uncertain about the future of your acting career. It can also help to keep you motivated and on track, as you can refer to your vision board whenever you need a reminder of what you're working towards.

Creating a vision board can also be a fun and creative process. It's a chance to tap into your imagination and think about what you really want in life. It's also a great way to get in touch with your values and what's most important to you.

How To Manifest Your Performing Arts Career Goals with a Vision Board

Creating a vision board is a powerful way to manifest your acting goals and bring them closer to reality. Here are some tips for using a vision board to manifest your acting goals:

Be Specific About Your Career Goals

The more specific you are about your acting career goals, the easier it will be to manifest them. Instead of simply writing "I want to be a successful actor," try setting specific goals. For example, define how many actual bookings you want to manifest in the next 6 months or in the year and in what area.  Get specific about how much money you want to make in the next 12 months from your performance career. What directors and projects do you want to work on?  Get in the habit of stating these desires as if you already have achieved them.  Consider the following affirmation:  “I am so happy and grateful now that Theatre, TV, Film & Commercial bookings come to me in increasing quantities from multiple sources on a continuous basis throughout the year.”

Use Powerful Imagery to Spark Inspiration

Choose images that represent your goals and make you feel inspired and motivated. These could be pictures of actors or actresses you admire, images of specific roles you hope to play, or even just words or phrases that resonate with you.

Write Out Acting Career Affirmations For Your Vision Board

Affirmations are positive statements that can help to reprogram your mindset and focus your energy on manifesting your goals. Consider writing affirmations related to your acting goals and placing them on your vision board. For example, you might write

  • I am a talented and successful actor
  • I am confident and ready to tackle any role that comes my way.
  • I consistently book (lead, supporting lead, co-star, guest star, recurring, commercials, musical theatre, theatre, etc.) roles on major-level projects from multiple sources by X date. If it’s helpful to you, define the actual names of projects and be as specific as possible.
  • I now have the new agent/manager of my dreams. With their added support and belief in my talent, I easily book Broadway, Off-Broadway, TV (co-star, guest star, recurring, series regular), Film (supporting, supporting lead, lead, star), and principal commercial work.

Review the Vision Board Regularly

Make a habit of reviewing your vision board regularly, at least once a week. This will help keep your goals top of mind and reinforce the positive energy and focus you're putting into manifesting them.

Take Action

An actor’s vision board is a powerful tool, but it's not a magic solution. In order to manifest your acting goals, you need to take action and put in the work to make them a reality. This might involve auditioning for roles, networking with industry professionals, or investing in training and development.

By following these steps, you can use your vision board as a powerful tool to manifest your acting goals and bring them closer to reality. Remember to stay positive, focus on your goals, and take consistent action toward making them a reality.
