Happy Tuesday, UTD!

It seems the only thing on anyone's mind these days is the looming WGA strike. While the strike seems inevitable, I want to take a moment to reassure you production will go on. Yes, TV series and film production will be affected, but it will not come to a complete stop. If the COVID-19 pandemic taught us one thing it is that the entertainment industry will shoulder on.

Make use of any downtime by going back to the drawing board. Here are a few tips on how to make the most of your time and stay active during a potential writers' strike:

  • Revisit your 13 Essential marketing tools. Assess what is working and what is not.
  • Does your castable type line up with your view of yourself and the type of work you are interested in booking?
  • Start a new campaign for representation. With fewer audition notices talent agents and talent managers will use this time to find new talent and revise their roster.
  • Create your own work! This should be part of your regular process, but now more than ever create content. Production companies will be looking for original content from unconventional sources

Annie and I are developing a workshop on this topic. More information on this in the coming weeks. If you would be interested in a "strike-proof" workshop, drop a line and let us know.

There's a lot to cover! Get out there and create a great week!

Create a great week! ✌️
