2025 Industry Predictions - Pilot Season - Production Updates
By Abigail Hardin, January 07, 2025
Happy New Year, UTD!
I hope this finds you well, wonderful, working, and ready to deep-dive into the abundant opportunities of the New Year! The end of 2024 was a whirl, as the holidays often are, and I for one welcome the resolve and back-to-work energy of the New Year. Give me a schedule and routine any day. As we set off on a new trip around the sun, what are some career goals you have for 2025? Maybe book your first co-star or guest star role on TV? Maybe finally get new headshots or revamp your reels? Maybe look for new or better representation that aligns with your career path and focus. Whatever your goal, I encourage you to set aside some time this week and write down actionable steps to achieving this goal. What is one step you can take today? What is an attainable smaller goal for 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months? These smaller goals should all support and move you closer to the larger year-end picture. Here are a few easy tasks you can take today:
- Create a vision board to assist your manifestation work
- Define your castable type and create a targeted area of focus
- Research projects currently casting in your area
- Find, filter, and target new talent agents and talent managers looking for clients like you
- Review and refresh your marketing materials (headshot, resume, reels, etc.)
With daily work, we can move stagnant energy and level up our career and experience in general. So again I ask you, what do you want from 2025?
We want to hear about your success!
Speaking of success, we are revamping our UTDA client PR and are excited to announce a new social media campaign promoting your successes!
If you have a recent career success (booked work, gotten new representation, had a project get Festival notice wins in 2024, etc.), we'd love to hear from you and feature your success story on our UTDA Social Media accounts. Send us your details and we'll shout it out!
This is the info that we need:
- Headshot or show shot as a low-res jpeg
- Info on bookings/career news etc
- Dates/airings/screenings/festivals etc
- Agent/Manager representation info and for what area
- Your social media handles
Part of creating more success is acknowledging and celebrating the achievements we already have created. We can't wait to hear about and celebrate all that you did in 2024!
Lastly, before we deep dive into the news from the holidays and New Year, if you need an extra jolt to make the most of this season, Annie and I will be hosting a free workshop next week with Actors Connection. We hope you can join us as we discuss Pilot Season 2025, what you need to know about the state of production, and how you can book your own film & TV work. Read more below. The event is free but registration is required.
