Booking Film, TV & Theatre Work - Strike After Effects - Pilots & Upfronts
By Abigail Hardin, January 31, 2024
Happy Wednesday, UTD!
Annie and I had a wonderful time at our "Booking Film, TV, and Theatre Work With or Without an Agent" with Actors Connection last week. There were so many great questions! The response was overwhelming, people left feeling motivated and renewed with focus and energy. We're thrilled to share that the workshop was recorded and you can watch (or re-watch) the workshop through your Up-To-Date Actor account.
This hour-and-a-half workshop is available for UTDA members (and free trials). Login to your account or sign up for a free trial to view this workshop on our workshops page. On this page, you can also find helpful tutorials on how to maximize your Up-To-Date Actor account and its numerous features.
In this seminar, we explore these five first steps:
- Know/discover your type
- Know your market, what projects are filming there?
- Are your marketing materials in top shape?
- Know & meet the right casting directors - how to create a targeted list
- How to effectively research new projects and opportunities
- How to craft an effective self-submission that gives a clear picture of your unique talent
We at the Up-To-Date Actor strive to provide you with tools and research that can empower you to take BOLD action to move your career forward.
I hope you'll take some time to watch the workshop and give your career a new year jolt. Production is in full swing now that the strikes and the holidays are over, make the most of this time and craft the acting career you've always wanted!
Now, onto the news!
P.S. We lost a great icon yesterday. Chita Rivera passed away yesterday at the age of 91. Tributes, memories, anecdotes, and thoughts have been flooding in from every sector of our industry for this legend. You will be missed, rest in peace Chiate Rivera!
